University of Cambridge International Education (Cambridge International)

The Cambridge International Education is divided into four stages:

1. Cambridge Primary
2. Cambridge Lower Secondary/Checkpoint
3. Cambridge Upper Secondary /Cambridge IGCSE
4. Cambridge Advanced / A Levels

It builds on the learners’ development from the previous stage but can also be offered separately. Cambridge Primary Programme

The Cambridge Primary curriculum is based on theories and practices that are prevalent internationally. It is a comprehensive provision for teaching children aged between 5 to 11 years. It starts learners on an exciting educational journey, helping them to become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged.

The Primary programme covers English, Mathematics and Science, developing essential skills in literacy, thinking and working mathematically and scientific enquiry.

This programme gives students a larger platform for growth and learning. It provides excellent foundations for the next stage of education, as well as plenty of opportunities to develop creativity, expression and personal wellbeing in a variety of ways. We have also introduced Global Perspectives which has a skill-based curriculum focusing on imbibing the 21st century skills.

The Cambridge Primary science curriculum helps learners not only develop life-long curiosity but also seek scientific explanations to the phenomena they observe around them. To incorporate subject areas for Social Science like Community Living, Our Environment, and so on, we have developed a unique curriculum called VIBGYOR Concepts or V Concepts.

V Concepts is an effective curriculum, which develops in-depth knowledge, skills and understanding in three key areas:

• Academics
• Personal Development
• International Understanding

The goal of V-concepts is to provide a holistic education and develop skills necessary to prepare our students for academics and the challenges of a dynamically changing world.

The inquiry methodology with experiential learning through simulation activities, culminating activities, field trips and events assist in direct experiences and focused reflection, in order to increase knowledge and develop skills.

Cambridge Lower Secondary / Checkpoint:

We believe education works best when curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment align. Cambridge Lower Secondary prepares students for the next stage by developing knowledge, understanding and skills across the programme.

Cambridge Lower Secondary offers a curriculum framework for educational success typically for learners in the age bracket of 11-14 years. It also provides excellent preparation for our learners embarking on Cambridge Secondary 2 (IGCSE).

Besides the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science. Endorsed resources by Cambridge as recommended by Cambridge International. Students’ Language skills are enriched through training in national and foreign languages. The subject of Social Studies lays emphasis on developing students’ understanding of their environment and deepening their reverence for the rich geographical wealth and the glorious historical heritage of our country. Students are further equipped with technical skills through the study of Information and Communication Technology. We have also introduced Global Perspectives which has a skill-based curriculum focusing on imbibing the 21st century skills. Cambridge Checkpoint tests are taken at the end of Cambridge Lower Secondary.

Cambridge Upper Secondary / IGCSE

IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is a two-year programme leading to externally set, marked and certificated examinations from the University of Cambridge.

At VIBGYOR GROUP OF SCHOOLS, we offer the Cambridge Upper Secondary / IGCSE curriculum. The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is the world's most popular international qualification for students in the age group of 14 to 16 years. It develops students' skills in creative thinking, inquiry and problem solving, and gives them excellent preparation for the next stage in their education.

Using learner-centred and inquiry-based learning strategies, Cambridge IGCSE offers a broad and balanced study across a variety of subjects. Cambridge Higher Secondary/AS and A Level

A Level is a two-year course which includes Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS Level) and Cambridge International Advanced Level (A-Level).

Year 1 - AS Level is equivalent to grade 11 & Year 2 – A Level is equivalent to grade 12.This qualification is pursued in high school by 16 to 19-year-old students to prepare themselves for university and their higher education.

Cambridge International Project Qualification (Cambridge IPQ).

VIBGYOR provides Cambridge IPQ, a new standalone, project-based certification that can help students stand out when applying to universities and jobs.

Cambridge IPQ:
