Lucknow: VIBGYOR High Lucknow School participated in the Ground Water Week Celebration held at Regional Science Centre Lucknow from 16th July to 21st July 2015. This is celebrated every year in order to create awareness among the young minds about the availability of resources of ground water and ways to conserve these resources.
More than 4000 students from beyond 19 schools participated in the event which included schools like VIBGYOR High Lucknow School, City Montesari School, Jaipuria School, St. Joseph school and a lot more. In order to promote and inculcate the cause amongst children, Science Centre hosted an array of interschool competitions during the week like quiz competitions, poster making, slogan writing, panel discussions, painting contest and debate competition for students from Grade 6-10.
Around 50 students from VIBGYOR High Lucknow School actively participated in the event. The students laid down their ideas and displayed exemplary knowledge on the subject on which they were highly appreciated. One of the students, Shagun Singhal, VIBGYOR High, Grade 8 has been selected as one of the winners in the Quiz competition, who displayed her sense of knowledge on the need and importance of water.
Expressing her views on the event, Ms. Rashmi Singh, Principal, VIBGYOR High Lucknow School said, “Of late, Natural calamities have become rampant, one of them being famine. As the water table of the earth is reducing, students from VIBGYOR High decided to seize this opportunity to create awareness in the masses on the need to conserve water for sustaining in future. I would also like to congratulate Shagun for making us proud through her achievement.”
